Jake and the Never Land Pirates | DVD Review & Giveaway

Jake and the Never Land Pirates is cable’s#1 series among boys ages 2-5 and is on track to be Disney Channel’s #1 preschool series ever.

A music filled interactive treasure hunt, the series introduces a crew of kid pirates – leader Jake and pals Izzy and Cubby - and  follows their Never Land adventures as they work to outwit two infamous characters, the one and only Captain Hook and Smee, from Disney’s classic “Peter Pan”.  Every episode features the animated Sharky and Bones characters as they pop up throughout to perform original pirate ditties, and each episode concludes with a live action music video featuring The Never Land Pirate Band.

Argh!  Jake has got to be the cutest pirate that ever sailed the seven seas (and yes that includes Captain Jack Sparrow!).  Our ‘DVD Tester’ loves this show, and can’t wait to watch new episodes, ah who am I kidding, new or old, she loves them all!  The pirate paraphernalia all comes out when Jake and the Never Land Pirates comes on – and how delightful is it to be able to watch 7 full episodes in a row?!  The music in this series is fantastic, and it’s so nice to have a CD included with the DVD so that when you’re on the go in your car, you can pop it in and hear your kids belt out their favorite pirate tunes.  I find myself not just tapping my toes but singing along as well!

Retailing for the suggested price of $19.99 in the U.S. and $24.99 in Canada, I recommend this DVD for purchase, and don’t forget – the holidays are right around the corner…only 87 days at the publishing time of this post – I’m sure you know a preschooler who would like to find this among their gifts!
