New Knowledge Adventure Apps

Knowledge Adventure the company that produces JumpStart and MathBlaster educational software has two new iPhone/iPad apps on the market.

JumpStart Preschool iPad App, teaches basic skills in different games to help your child learn. 21 skill-building games that make learning fun!  A great mix of entertainment and learning.    From re-telling a story to matching pictures, your child will have a choice of 3 games within the 7 skill sets.

Everything is auditory so the child can follow along on their own without much help.  They choose a lesson by scrolling through the top hats and tapping a card.

They can play the games again and again even if they have received a gold star for them.

JumpStart has priced this app at just $1.99, so even though the games are pretty rudimentary and your child might go through them in one afternoon, it’s a sweet deal!

MathBlaster: HyperBlast will help your kids retain their math facts over summer!  They might even advance to some new math skills while playing.  This iPhone/iTouch/iPad app allows kids to hop on a HyperCycle and outsmart alien robots, blast through razor sharp blockades all the while solving math equations.

Our tester had a great time playing the game, she didn’t even care that it was educational! She’s 8 years old and in 2nd grade.

There are multiple levels and the games I think are appropriate for 1st to 7th graders.

I even had a good time playing!

In the interest of the review (cough, cough) I tried it out and I was instantly struck by how the math equations are programmed in to be a natural part of the game and not ‘school’ like at all.  If you know you’ll be spending time in the car this summer, MathBlaster HyperBlast is worth picking up for your iPhone/iTouch/iPad.  If your kids like playing computer games, and you like it when they play educational games – it’s a win/win app.  MathBlaster HyperBlast costs $1.99 to download.

Disclosure: I was provided with codes good for HyperBlast and JumpStart Preschool to download the apps at no cost by Knowledge Adventure in order to review them and give my opinions on them. The opinions I have given are mine and may differ from others but were not influenced by the free product.
