Night & Day Studios Apps for Kids

Posted by on Feb 2, 2011 in Gadgets, Smart Phone Apps | 9 comments

The “i” products boost entertainment to the limits. Ideal for all ages and preferences, the various “i” apps keep one amused for hours. And your kids are not excluded from that. Highly entertaining and educational, Night & Day Studios has a few apps for kids.

Quibble Kids1. Quibble Kids

What is better than sharpening the mind of your children two to eight years old without killing all the fun? The Quibble Kids app is ideal for your kids featuring picture match puzzles using three-dimensional spinning cubes to help enable your children’s spatial reasoning, logic and memory skills.  Quibble Kids helps children learn to make connections between what they see and what they know.

Quibble Kids features:

  • 50 puzzle sets with over 200 images for the original picture match game
  • Intuitive interface for young kids to easily master
  • Score Keeping to chart your child’s progress
  • Access to additional puzzle packs for kids between the ages 2 and 12 that include Picture Match #2, Word Match, Math and Math Jr.- costing only 99¢

You really don’t need to worry about your children being bored with this app.  As an adult, I played the Word Match and Math Match and found that they would be challenging for the older age group.  Even the picture match is a logic challenge for the younger ones.  Putting together items that fit into categories, will keep the kids busy, especially since the pictures don’t match exactly but rather fall under the same umbrella.  For example they need to match 4 pictures of ‘keys’, but one might be a set of car keys, another and old skeleton key and yet another a set of toy keys on a ring.

I wasn’t overly fond of the music and after a few games, went looking to see if it could be turned off, and was quite appreciative that you could through the game settings.

Quibble Kids is available for purchase at the iTunes store for $1.99.

Kindermusik2. Kindermusik

Ideal for young children, Kindermusik was the most popular with our review kids, of the 3 apps we reviewed for Night & Day Studios. With 5 stations to choose from the Kindermusik app will give you access to over 100 streaming songs.  Additionally, your kids will have corresponding activities to every song designed to stimulate early childhood development. Singing and storytelling on the go are now easier and funner than ever!  You do need to have your wireless access on in order to access the Kindermusik stations.

Kindermusik is available for iPhones and iPod Touches for $1.99 in the iTunes store.  The lite version, with 1 station of songs is available for free.

3. Peekaboo Forest

This is a super app for toddlers, featuring seasons and animals, simply tapping the screen will have the story move through it’s succession. Compelling images, amazing colors and fun shapes are beautifully combined to reveal the animals in the forest. Tap the peeking animal, to see who it is and then tap again to continue to the next one. Watch your kids have fun finding all the animals!

Peekaboo Forest is available for iPhones, iTouch and iPad on the App Store for $1.99.

Children nowadays have an advanced knowledge of gadgets and technology overall that sometimes, even beats adults. The “i” products are great devices for that.  Night and Day Studios’ various fun and educative apps teach your children words, colors, and match items while boosting their hand-eye coordination.
