Tomorrow, October 2nd brings the newest VeggieTales DVD to the store shelves, a Christmas tale titled “It’s a Meaningful Life”.
Life is more than a game…
It was the biggest football game of his life and Stewart (Larry the Cucumber) had a chance to win it all. Injured in one bad play, his hopes of playing in the Salad Bowl—and living a life of fame and fortune—are dashed forever. Years later, silly-but-sweet Stewart loves his family, friends and job at the toy train factory, but still wonders “what if” things had been different. When he meets a mysterious train conductor who can turn back time, Stewart gets a chance to have the life he always wanted. Will he find all he’s been looking for? And what does this mean for those he loves most? Find out in this story of wonder and a lesson in being content.
We love Larry the Cucumber and VeggieTales. Actually the first thing we do to kick off the Christmas season in our home, is put up our tree (yes, it’s artificial). While we’re tree trimming, the VeggieTales Christmas music is playing. That being said…
“It’s a Meaningful Life” would be a great purchase to watch during the Christmas season, or for Christmas itself. It’s a pretty good DVD, for the whole family. As is usual in VeggieTales DVDs this one has the action that kids like, but with the view that parents want them to learn, and in “It’s a Meaningful Life” it’s all about being content.
The computer animation is your typical VeggieTales fare, the visuals of the town and the train are well done.
I really think the whole family will enjoy “It’s a Meaningful Life”, and while some of the lines will go over the young ones heads, it makes it fun for the parents to watch along with them. I would recommend this DVD to everyone.
